Queen Isabella was a devoted Catholic and was determined to make sure Spain was a united Catholic country. Soon enough Isabella and Ferdinand forced Muslims and Jews to convert to Catholicism or leave Spain. They now were seen to have “purified” Roman Catholic faith by expelling the Jews. The two were then given the title “the Catholic Monarchs.” The decision to make Spain an all Catholic kingdom was one of the biggest acts Isabella made.
